Ziad Mouallem is Partner at the Firm operating from Dubai. He is a senior litigator specialized in multiple forms of dispute resolution, with a particular focus on international arbitration, enforcement and cross-border disputes under various legal systems, and an expert knowledge in investment arbitration, energy arbitration, litigation funding and claim assignment methods.
Ziad is a Middle-Eastern national fluent in Arabic, English and French (written & spoken) that possesses a strong academic pedigree. He has practiced throughout the Gulf region for 15 years, both with leading regional legal 500 law firms and also in-house with a major Abu Dhabi investment company where he was GC and Head of Litigation, and advised regional merchant families, HNW individuals, family offices and institutional clients.
Ziad provides broad corporate, commercial and DR legal services, and risk and conflict management solutions across a range of sectors in different jurisdictions. He regularly advises major companies throughout the Levant, Africa and the Gulf region and abroad across a broad spectrum of subject matter areas, mainly in relation to ICC, LCIA, DIFC-LCIA, DIAC, ADCCAC, QICCA, CRCICA, LAC, UNCITRAL and ICSID arbitration rules, enforcement proceedings, complex court cases and settlements under various legal systems.
He has a strong and diverse litigation and arbitration practice. His private practice and previous in-house experience covers litigation and pre-contentious work for sectors such as commercial, corporate, investment, banking & finance, M&A, international contracts, real estate, BITs, concessions, insolvency, business crime, IP, construction (FIDIC), commodities, distribution and general trading among several others.
